Hallo Friend
Freedom Behind Bars
For over 23 years, I’ve had the privilege of sharing the Gospel inside prisons across South Africa. Through my ministry, Baasraak, I’ve seen how God can transform even the most broken lives behind the walls of correctional centres.

What began as simple outreach has become a growing movement of hope, healing, and redemption. Our mission is clear: to bring the message of Jesus Christ to inmates—many of whom feel forgotten, unloved, and without purpose.

Each prison outreach includes worship, testimonies, and preaching. What makes it truly impactful is that I’m often joined by former gang members and ex-inmates—men who have experienced God’s mercy and now boldly share their stories to encourage others. Time and again, we see hardened hearts softened, and many inmates respond to the call to follow Christ.

To support their journey, every new believer receives a Baasraak New Testament City Bible—a powerful tool to ground them in God’s Word.

But we don’t stop there. We identify and train 15 inmate leaders in each facility to continue the work on the inside. These men lead Bible studies, mentor others, and become change agents in their prison communities.

One of our latest developments is Unlock Radio, a Christian station inside prison walls with the slogan: “Where Rehabilitation Meets Rhythm.” Through this, we are training inmates to become radio and podcast hosts—equipping them to speak life, share Scripture, and bring hope to their fellow inmates every day.
This is more than rehabilitation. It’s revival.

The fruit of this ministry includes:
-
Gang leaders turning into spiritual leaders
-
Broken men discovering identity and purpose
-
Inmates becoming Bible teachers and encouragers
-
Entire prison sections being impacted by the Word of God

We don’t go into prisons to bring pity—we go to awaken purpose.

My Mission
Is to finish my race with joy, and the ministry which
I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.

My Vision
To break the evil cycle of crime by preaching the Gospel; to the meek, the poor and afflicted and to proclaim liberty to captives
